When Keith Truong was 14 years old, experimenting with flour and sugar in his parents’ bakery in Vietnam, he had no idea that this favorite childhood pastime would one day become his livelihood and dream job. His journey to opening Ambrosia Bakery was just beginning.
Years later, Keith came to the U.S. to pursue a degree in engineering, but it didn’t take him long to realize that he wanted to pursue something else. When he went back to Vietnam and spent time with his parents at their bakery, he realized that he wanted to follow their footsteps and start his own bakery. Keith spent the next few years working at different European bakeries in the U.S., and he dedicated his free time to learning everything he could about French baking.
In 1988, with the help of his siblings, Keith opened Ambrosia Bakery. He worked tirelessly to provide his customers with the very best tasting experiences in San Francisco, and his vision came to life as Ambrosia Bakery became a place that locals loved. Now, customers can still find Keith bustling around the kitchen and creating one-of-a-kind flavors and pastries. He is beyond proud of the bakery and family-like staff who make Ambrosia Bakery what it is today. His loyal customers, who have become friends, are his inspiration to continue baking and creating for the people of San Francisco.
